For monday.com consultants whose clients need the hour, not just the day

Partner program · By Lucas Milanez, who built and supports Precise Triggers

In short: Precise Triggers fires a monday.com action at the date and time stored in a Date column, or a set time before or after it, on items and subitems. If you set up boards for clients, you get a free Pro account for your own workspace and 30% of what each client you refer pays during their first 12 months. To join, email support@precisetriggers.com with the subject "Partner".

Who this is for

monday.com partners, consultants and freelance builders who configure boards for other companies. It fits best when your clients run work with a deadline at a specific time: support and service teams with SLA windows, account managers with client calls, operations teams with shift handoffs, agencies with launch times, schedulers with appointments.

The limit your clients run into

monday's native "when date arrives" automation runs at one fixed hour that you pick, for every item. The time stored in the Date column is ignored. With the automation set to 09:00, an item due at 14:30 gets its reminder five and a half hours early, and one due at 08:40 gets it twenty minutes late.

The offsets are whole days, so there is no "2 hours before". Formula columns can't trigger automations, so you can't compute a reminder time and fire on it. Zapier or Make can get close by polling the board, with extra setup, polling delay and per-task billing. You have probably already explained this to a client at least once.

Three requests you can say yes to

What the client asksNative automationsWith Precise Triggers
"Remind the owner 1 hour before each subitem is due" (each subitem has its own time)Same fixed hour for all; smallest offset is 1 dayTrigger on "Subitems › Date", 1 h before; the notification goes to the person in the subitem's People column
"Remind the rep 15 minutes before the client call" on a CRM boardA 15:30 demo and a 09:00 call get the alert at the same hour15 min before the time in the call's Date column, to the person in the People column
"Set status to At risk 2 hours before the SLA deadline, unless it's Done"No hour-level offset2 h before, change status to At risk, with "only run if Status is not Done" checked at that moment

Step-by-step guides for each: subitem reminders, reminders before a call, X hours before a deadline.

What the app does

It fires within 30 seconds of the scheduled minute, and typically within a few seconds: in our production tests the action ran 1.0 to 1.5 s after it. Setup is a board view inside monday and takes about a minute. You can see it in the demo video and the install video.

What you get as a partner

Your clients pay for their own plan: a 14-day free trial with 25 automations and no card, then Starter at $19/month (500 fired automations) or Pro at $49/month (5,000). Annual plans save about 17%. Clients cancel in one click in the billing portal.

How it works

  1. Email support@precisetriggers.com with the subject "Partner" and a line about your practice.
  2. I reply with your personal link or code and set up your free Pro account.
  3. Your client installs from precisetriggers.com (through your link) and, if you have a code, enters it at checkout when they choose a plan.
  4. Each payment from that client during their first 12 months is credited to you. Tracking is manual for now, so I keep the record and we check it together.

Things you should know before recommending it

Questions partners ask

How is a referral tracked?

A personal code entered at checkout is the most reliable, because it is recorded on the client's subscription. A personal link shows me visits that came from you, but the install itself goes through monday's sign-in and doesn't carry the link. So when a client of yours installs, send me a short email with the client's name and I'll note it. If there's ever a doubt, we check it together.

How and when is the 30% paid?

Tracking is manual while the program is small. We agree on how and when you're paid by email when you join, before you refer anyone.

Do my clients pay through me?

No. Each client subscribes and pays for their own plan, and can cancel in the billing portal. Your share comes from what they pay.

What happens if a client's trial ends before they decide?

Their automations pause until they choose a plan. Nothing is deleted. They get a reminder inside monday 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends.

What data does the app keep?

Only IDs and an encrypted OAuth token (AES-256-GCM), over TLS, hosted on Hetzner in Germany. Data is deleted from the database within 24 hours of uninstall, and backups roll off within 30 days. More in the privacy policy.

Can it feed Make, Zapier or Slack?

Yes, through the webhook action. It sends your JSON payload at the scheduled moment, with variables such as the item name, item link, scheduled time and fire time.

Want to try it on a client board?

Email me with the subject "Partner". I read and answer these myself.
